Joint Mobilization Workshops
Designed to develop precision, understanding, and confidence in your manual techniques.

“This course is for you if…”

- You are already a massage therapist or manual therapist

- You want to improve your clinical precision

- You enjoy understanding the “why” behind techniques

By the end of these workshops, you will be able to :

Identify joint restrictions

✅ Apply safe and effective mobilization techniques

Integrate these techniques into your treatments as early as the next day

⚠️  IMPORTANT  ⚠️

This training is intended for therapists who already have a solid foundation in anatomy.

A good understanding of musculoskeletal structures is essential to follow the course effectively.

INTRODUCTION

These workshops are designed to help students better understand the concept of joint restriction, identify areas of joint hypomobility, and apply specific mobilization techniques to improve mobility.

Joint Mobilizations are divided into 10 body segments of 8 hours each:

1- The foot & ankle

2- The knee

3- The hip (coxofemoral)

4- The lumbar spine (and pelvis)

5- The thoracic spine

6- The cervical spine

7- The grip and the hand

8- The elbow

9- The shoulder
10- Skull & Face

COURSE STRUCTURE
To master joint mobilization techniques, it is essential to understand what is being mobilized, why, and how. Each class is therefore structured progressively to promote practical and safe integration of the techniques.

Here is a typical schedule for one day of these workshops:

Preparation (before the class)
Participants are encouraged to review the targeted anatomical structures before attending the training. This allows them to arrive in class with a basic understanding of the material and helps maximize hands-on practice time.

Introduction & context

  • Welcome and participant introduction

  • Overview of the module (objectives and targeted structures)

  • Key concepts: safety, indications, and scope of practice

Anatomy review & palpation

A practical and applied review of anatomy is done at the beginning of the course:

  • Identification of anatomical landmarks

  • Guided palpation

  • Understanding joint mechanics

Effective mobilization requires precision, anatomical awareness, and proper positioning.

Technique demonstration

  • Instructor demonstration on a volunteer

  • Explanation of how, why, and when to use each technique

  • Key points: safety, client comfort, and accuracy

Supervised hands-on practice

The majority of the course is dedicated to practice:

  • Practice in teams of 2–3 participants

  • Role rotation (therapist / client)

  • Real-time supervision and corrections

  • Repetition to integrate techniques

This hands-on approach allows you to develop confidence and precision.

Clinical integration

  • Case-based scenarios

  • Clinical reasoning: when to use each technique

  • Combining mobilizations with other approaches

Review & consolidation

  • Review of techniques learned

  • Questions and clarifications

  • Tips for clinical application

IMPORTANT PREREQUISITES

This training is intended for participants who already have a solid foundation in massage therapy.

Participants must:

  • Have a good knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy

  • Be comfortable palpating anatomical structures

  • Understand the basics of joint biomechanics

Joint mobilizations are advanced techniques that require:

  • Precision

  • An understanding of the structures involved

  • Respect for scope of practice limits

A hands-on approach

  • A large portion of the course is devoted to hands-on practice

  • Personalized guidance

  • Real-time corrections

  • Direct integration into clinical context

The goal is for you to leave with techniques that you can apply in your practice as early as the next day.
