Introduction to Thai Massage * BASE *
2 days - 15 hrs
Teacher: Catherine Gagnon
Prerequisites : None - training open to all
Price : $ 350
Objectives: The Introduction to Thai massage is a course whose main goal is to introduce the philosophy of this Asian technique. It will focus on an introduction to the history of Thai massage, the basic techniques of body weight transfer. The techniques will be for the client in a seated position and allow the therapist to discover this approach in order to be able to make an informed decision on the process of Thai massage.
The introduction to Thai massage is also an approach that is easy to apply for therapists who work in companies because it allows a small routine of 15-30 minutes comfortably seated on a zafu or a chair.
Next course in Gatineau: October 1st and 2nd, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Goals : This part will put the emphasis on the lateral decubitus and will deepen the work in TM. The therapist will still learn new techniques allowing him if he wishes to offer a treatment of more than 90 minutes.
For learning needs, the student will still learn therapeutic gestures in the form of a routine BUT unlike many schools, we ask students not to stay in the routine and during the final exam, our expectation is that the student will be able to process without routine on a guinea pig based on history and palpation.
Ideal treatment sequence for pregnant women, clients in pain who cannot lie on their back.
Thai massage training requires a lot of work learning the techniques of course but also the following elements:
compulsory massages to be completed (on another manual therapist) in order to receive a diploma
course book to fill out (personal research)
compulsory readings
