*** It is under the Ashiatsu label because it is performed with the feet ***
Ashiatsu is a massage of Japanese origin. The word "Ashi" means with foot, "Atsu" means pressure. It is an approach that uses the feet with Western massage techniques to improve posture, mobility, muscle relaxation, overall health, and the client's well-being.
Ashiatsu is based on Deep Tissue or Swedish work that seeks to target mainly the muscles.
MyoAtsu emphasizes structural myofascial therapy. This is a deep massage that mainly targets the fascia. Fascia is connective tissue that envelops muscles. This approach allows us to work the fascia layer by layer to reach the tissues in depth.
Although myofascial therapy targets the fascia, it allows us to better reduce muscle tension and adhesions because recent research shows that it is much more effective to release tension via the fascia. It also helps the body regain better flexibility.
THIS TRAINING IS OFFERED IN 3 SEPARATE SEGMENTS (7 hours each):
- Upper limbs & neck
- The Trunk
- Lower limbs
Prerequisites: Have a diploma in massage therapy, have taken the Sarga101 or certified in any other barefoot modalities.
